Before the GRAMMYs, the Billboard charts and collaborations with some of the biggest names in global music, Daramola was just a young boy sitting in church, watching the musicians play.
Born Abraham Olaleye and raised in Lagos, music was always part of his world. His mother, gospel artist Gbemi Olaleye, helped shape that early connection, and it wasn’t long before he found himself learning from the musicians around her.
Fast-forward, and Daramola has become a GRAMMY Award-winning producer, songwriter and creative force, with credits spanning Afrobeats, Latin music, reggae, pop and beyond. His work includes collaborations with Shakira, Anitta, Danny Ocean, Sean Paul, Wisin and more.
But now, the producer is stepping into the spotlight. His new producer album, Le Di Sentido, brings together the worlds that have shaped his career — Lagos, Latin America, the Caribbean and beyond. The project is built around collaboration, with Daramola serving as the creative force connecting different artists, sounds and cultures.
The lead single, “Gidi to Caracas (La Musica)” featuring Rawayana, sets the tone for a project where Afrobeats meets Latin sounds and Lagos connects with Caracas. For years, you may have heard Daramola’s work without knowing his name. Now, it’s time to put a name to the sound.
