Tshego Santana is a generational talent — the kind South African music needs to protect at all costs. A few days ago, he dropped a six-track EP titled Santilala, and after running it back all weekend (since I missed the listening session on Friday night), I can confidently say this project is special.
The opening track, “Glory”, sets the tone perfectly — raw, heartfelt, and beautifully executed. Tshego pours his all into the intro, reminding us he’s not only a gifted singer but also a sharp songwriter. With Rillo Beatz handling production, this one feels like a victory anthem South Africans have been waiting for.

The lead single “Baka” shows exactly why Tshego stands out. His ability to float between melodies and storytelling rap makes it sound effortless. Whether it’s smooth vocals, crisp raps, or clever ad-libs, he’s always delivering substance.
“Khabonina” is another standout. Packed with transitions that make it feel like three songs in one, it’s layered, dynamic, and capped with a beautiful Setwana audio sample that elevates it even more. Then there’s “Male Bestfrien’te” — a playful, relatable jam with a warning every guy can understand — before closing things off with the soulful “Eazeh.”

From start to finish, Santilala is a fun, thoughtful, and beautifully crafted body of work that proves Tshego Santana is here to stay.
