As much as I appreciate streaming and the convenience it has brought, I must say, I miss artists dropping on different days of the week. It gives listeners time to digest music a whole lot better. I say this because Nanette dropped on a Thursday as opposed to Friday and on a personal note, it came at the right time. Nanette just released a soultry R&B single titled “I’m Not Psycho”. The song details how Nanette’s passionate love is miscontrued for psychotic behaviour. Having listened to the single a few times, something dawned on me. Nanette has the incredible ability to create music that is highly relatable without compromising song quality. Despite her claims that she is purely in love, she battles with the realities of a fleeting relationship – one she is actively fighting for. These emotions are communicated by Nanette’s emotive performance on the single and partnered with the production, the song is practically built to be your favourite heartbreak song.
