The amazing TrustedSLK is ready to drop her new project, so we contacted her for a young interview just to give us a direction on the direction she’s taking and her plans.
You need no introduction to the hip-hop game now. How has the journey been like ever since you moved to Johannesburg permanently?
It’s been absolutely nothing short of amazing, I love Jozi for its endless opportunities. The reception has been immaculate. No two days are ever the same, the hustle is growing more and more each day.
We often hear about the difficulty of fighting sexism in the male-dominated rap world. How tough is it for you?
Mmm, I’ve never personally felt it, but I do hate when men will make remarks like “She won ’cause she was a girl” or “She’s there cause you’re a girl”.
A new album is on the way. What can hip-hop fans expect from this project?
They can expect a piece of my journey, the journey from my move to Jozi, and trust me it’s an interesting one.
Production-wise, who did you work with and who are the features?
Features include PDotO, MusiholiQ, Lord Script Indigo Stella just to mention a few. Producers I used different producers for each song but trust me it all made perfect sense in the end.
Your come-up and growth have been amazing to watch. What more can we expect from you this year?
band performance and Radio, I’ve got my own radio show on OTee radio every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-6 pm so listeners can tune in to hear more of my voice. They can DM for Link.
