J Molley has just dropped off his new project called Almost Dead today. This new drop comes after he returned from his hiatus back in early Feb. Almost Dead comes through with 10 tracks in total and is said to mark J Molley’s return to the mic by offering an insight into his journey from tracking his time in a rehabilitation centre, to dealing with various mental illness diagnoses and managing clinical depression, the album sees the artist find strength in being vulnerable.
I think being an advocate for mental health, it’s important for me to speak on it, to let other people know that it’s okay to feel this way, just to be a voice for the voiceless, really. I think that’s why it’s important. Just so people can understand a bit more where I was, what happened to me, and that it’s okay for them to feel the same way and to go through the same stuff.
“I always thought, ‘People are just telling me you’re going to be able to get out of it, but they don’t understand. They’re not like me.’ And I realised I wasn’t the only one suffering from this stuff. So if I can get out of it, I just want other people to know that they can get out of it as well.” – J Molley
