Muzi recently dropped off some new visuals for his ‘Stimela Segolide’ song. The whole video is animated and showcases the tough lives that many South Africans still adopt today to survive. From working in the mines, living in rural areas or working as a domestic worker, this video shows the stories of how although many black families farm & dig up valuable minerals, they’re still facing hardships which is quite a crazy contrast… The song is off his new Stimela SeGolide EP.
“Mom used to tell me stories about how her parents had to take trains to JHB to go to em mines. How granma left her homeland to go clean up white people houses to put food on our table. How people left their farms to go dig up some diamonds/gold and how that f*cked up the black family. These are the stories I’d like to tell in my music. We have to find ways of putting our history, culture into our art. Tell these stories ourselves. These are the visions. ” – Muzi
