KFC SoundBite presented the second leg of its Live Performance Experience by showcasing a set of its hottest chart toppers at an exclusive party, held at The Capital Hotel in Menlyn Maine, Pretoria on Saturday night. The event, which was MC’d by Siya ‘Slikour’ Metane, showcased talent from the SoundBite chart, with a mix of genres performing for a hyped up live audience, including media, celebs and music fans
The line-up was first unlocked by multitalented producer, DJ Abza who performed his track Golide (No.20) featuring Young A.Mo and Veetaedo. Durban based Afro House group Abangani Bethu not only experienced their first flight but gave guests and outstanding performance. These guys had the stage trembling with an energetic expression of their track titled, Njengo Zodwa (No.13).
Representing the ladies, DynastyFutureBetty slayed the stage with her track titled Get Down (No.91), the sultry vocals of Alpha Royce and her track titled No Love (No.61) touched the hearts of most fans as well as the fierce sound from the fast-rising hip hop star, Nelz and her track Balele (No.76). They were followed by Lae and his vocally talented singer iindirhe with their track titled Body (No.07), as well as Kwaito Group Inner Boyz with i-Bus Lomjolo (No.83). Lastly, a young rapper also hailing from Durban by the name of Cool Prince stole the show with his performance of his track All Night (No.25) and snatched the title of the “Best SoundBite Artist” for the night.
Guests were given a chance to vote for their favourite SoundBite artist, using a personalised wrist band which used radio frequency identification technology. The event was headlined by big artists who kept the crowd on their feet all night and these included, DJ Doowap, Moozlie, Nasty C, Shane Eagle, Reason and a surprise performance by Slikour himself! Cool Prince and Melissa Raw (The Best Soundbite Artists from the Johannesburg and Pretoria events) will go head to head and perform at a New Year’s Day event in Cape Town. The third artist for this event is still to be announced.
