So the news of former Skhanda Queen’s departure from record label Cashtime Life on Wednesday came as a surprise to everyone. Moozlie, as she would like to be addressed in her musical capacity, joined the stable last year to most people’s astonishment (she never made music before this), and the end of her run was announced through a press release from Cashtime president Thabiso Khati (Hiphop Scholar) this week.
Moozlie has finally broken her silence with a statement from her management team in which she explains that she has embarked on a venture to explore her brand holistically. But the real statement is made in the short one-verse track titled ‘Solo Troop’ which she dropped on Slikouronlife.co.za just moments ago, produced by VAM. Some for the quotes from the track include:
- “Now I run the game/ Some people they changed/ They do not act the same/ They don’t know my name”
- “Didn’t we say this was my time?/ Now you play dumb when I’m tryina get mine/ Got me on here like I’m doing a crime/ Sh*t, you ain’t getting a dime”
- “Me and my attitude onto the next/ f*cking with me? Something you will regret”
Now we don’t want to speculate but considering the title of the song, timing and content, this sounds an awful lot like it could be directed at K.O and his Cashtime colleagues. And when asked by a fan on Twitter why she left Cashtime, Moozlie responded by tweeting him a link to her song, which pretty points to her lyrics as a response. What you think? For what it’s worth, the track is fire and we are looking forward to hearing more from her.
