Bringing Tupac back!

Tupac Shakur will be revived in a new biopic, almost two decades after the rapper’s death. The film by Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett/Furla Films, will begin filming in Atlanta next year. The biopic will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson & LT Hutton of Morgan Creek Productions along with Randall Emmett and George Furla for Emmett Furla Films.  Not surprisingly the film will be executive produced by Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, who vowed earlier this year that she’d release all of her son’s unreleased work. Hope some of that will make it into the movie, which is bound to be a huge hit at the box office. There’s still no word on who’s going to play Tupac in the move. We hope it ain’t the same dude from the Notorious B.I.G biopic who made Tupac look more of a reckless villain than anything else.

And if you’re like me and fiendin’ for some Pac in the meantime, XXL Magazine in the USA is issuing a special collectors issue to commemorate Tupac. Hitting newsstands end of September (although we’ll get it here in SA at the end of October I’m sure, XXL’s The Best Of 2Pac will feature 114 pages jam-packed with Tupac stories, interviews and features that have been in the magazine since 1997, a year after the rappers’ untimely death when he was gunned down in Las Vegas after a Mike Tyson fight. His murder is still unresolved although there seemed to be a breakthrough in the case when confessions started coming forward in 2011, indicting hip hop mogul Jimmy Henchman . No one has been charged with his murder to this day.

Look out for a HYPE Tupac issue real SOON!

Long live the greatest of all time. Yeah we said it.
