Every year, we bear witness to some out-of-shape celebrities and semi-athletic media personalities going at each other for no other reason than that, for one day in the year, it’s fun to see these suave guys not wearing dark shades and instead fumbling over each other for two measly points. This year is no different and we’re excited about it as ever.
On 25 May (this Saturday) St. Stithians College in Sandton will play host to this year’s ESPN Celebrity Basketball showcase where team Vuzu (Channel 116 on DSTV) will take on team Channel O (Channel 320 on DSTV). It’s no NBA play-off game but going by the line-up, it will make for a very interesting occasion. The day will also feature a skills contest, a dunk contest and a more serious basketball face-off between the SA team and the varsity team. Best part? All of this is completely free so you have no excuse.
