Snoop Lion Drops Feature Loaded Album

Either Snoop is really serious about the Rastafari thing or he’s just having too much fun from the reactions he’s getting out of us. We’re more inclined to believe the latter.

Today Snoop unveiled the official album artwork for the Snoop Lion forthcoming reggae and dancehall influenced album, REINCARNATED, which is set to drop on April 22, 2013. If this is on fact a joke, it’s a very expensive one because the feature list is not anything to laugh at. The album is executively produced by super dubstep DJ and producer Diplo, and Major Lazer, and includes features from Drake, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, T.I., Akon Rita Ora, Dancehall stars Popcaan, Mavado and more.  The album will be released in conjunction with Berhane Sound System, Mad Decent, VICE Music and RCA Records.

REINCARNATEDthe accompanying film, will hit select theaters in the US on March 15th (so we’re expecting it in South Africa roughly around November of 2025).  Presented by VICE Films and Snoopadelic Films, the documentary gives viewers unprecedented access as Snoop reflects on his turbulent and rapid rise from Long Beach to international icon to his rechristening as “Snoop Lion” through his visit to Jamaica, where the culture and people influenced him greatly. We can think of a couple of Jamaican organisations who will not be happy about this… Jah’man!
