Motif Records, the leading independent label founded by acclaimed South African MC Tumi Molekane (of Tumi and The Volume fame), is proud to announce the second Motif Showcase this spring.
Live features include the eclectic Zaki Ibrahim performing new material from her album ‘Every Opposite’, which includes the smashing spring hit ‘Go Widdit’. The single’s video is well on its way to being a YouTube sensation.
Rising Hip-Hop star Reason will also be showcasing his Motif Records’ debut album ‘Audio3D’, accompanied by DJ ID (Kool Out Lounge) and hit-maker producer, 37mph (JR, Jozi, HHP, Ishmael, Zola etc). Reason’s sing along single ‘Do It Like I Can’, trending on Twitter the night of its premiere on SABC1’s Live recently, is currently one of the most played songs on radio.
Durban/Joburg DJ, P.Kuttha will be serving his hometown the best way he does. Motif’s new signee, Perfecto, will also be performing tunes off his new mixtape, ‘Meet Perfecto’ and talented Durban wonder girl, singer-rapper Skye Wanda and none other than Abdus will also bless the audience with something familiar.
Motif premiered the live showcases on September 2nd at Soweto’s Thesis Social Jam Session where label fans, friends and family got to see the entire stable on the same stage in one night. The performances were nothing less than legendary. Tumi will host the night and the audience can expect to hear some of his new material including latest collaborations with Haezer and Yesterday’s Pupil. This Durban leg of the tour promises to be unforgettable.
