DJ Switch and George Avakian Represent with Adidas Originals

Adidas have been on their grizzle lately. With the launch of their Jeremy Scott range that scooped up ASAP Rocky and Nicki Minaj as official ambassadors, as well as the series of “All In” campaign featuring G.O.O.D Music’s D-town superstar Big Sean, rapper/producer B.O.B, Chicago Bull’s Derrick Rose, Katy Perry and a few others,  it’s been tough to ignore the waves they’re making.

On South African shores, they’re going pretty hard to. Adidas Originals (@adidasza or Twitter) recently kicked off their #represent campaign with a promo video featuring Hype Magazine 2010 DJ of the Year DJ Switch and white boi beatbox/producer sensation George Avakian.   The campaign calls for all young and ambitious groups or cliques of any kind – skateboarding, graffiti, rap, sports, music, kite flying; it can be whatever – to record a video showing what inspires them and how they express themselves. The winner of this competition will walk away with an array of prisez, including Adidas clothing vouchers and some of that cold hard cash money.

Other local #represent ambassadors include Cape Town b-boys Vouks & The Curse, the official Adidas Skateboarding team (Jansen van Staden, Khulu Dlamini, Pieter Retief and Yann Horowitz) and writer/TV presenter/Video Game Reviewer Pippa Tshabalala.

A dope campaign for all you original thinkers and hungry minds to sink your teeth into. Make sure you look out for the videos that Adidas will be posting up on their Youtube channel weekly. The first of which is this one. Enjoy:
