From Sofa to the Circuit with Heineken House Kyalami

Formula 1® has always been about more than what happens on the track. It’s the anticipation before lights out, the debate over strategy, the reactions to every overtake and, increasingly, the people you share those moments with.

As the Brazilian Grand Prix approaches, Heineken® is bringing that spirit of connection to Johannesburg with the Heineken House F1 Edition, an exclusive race-day experience taking place on Sunday, 8 November.  The experience will bring invited guests together for an afternoon that combines Formula 1® race viewing, live music, entertainment and the premium hospitality that’s become synonymous with Heineken House.

And findings from a BusinessTech poll suggest there’s an opportunity to make the race-day occasion even more social. While 51% of respondents usually watch races at home, 45% do not usually watch Formula 1® live and none identified organised public viewing events as part of their usual race-day experience.

For Heineken®, the findings point to an interesting opportunity: to take a viewing occasion that, for many respondents, happens at home and give fans more reasons to experience the excitement of race day together.

“Formula 1® has an incredible ability to bring people together, and that’s where Heineken® sees an opportunity to add something meaningful to the race-day experience,” says Warrick Wyngaard, Marketing Communication Manager at Heineken® South Africa. “Heineken House creates a space where invited guests can experience that same race-day excitement collectively, with great entertainment, hospitality and, the social connection that sits at the heart of Heineken’s relationship with Formula 1®.”

Heineken®’s global partnership with Formula 1® continues to come to life in South Africa through a 2026 campaign giving fans more ways to engage with the sport beyond race day.  This year, that experience extends across Heineken House, The Paddock Club and limited-edition packaging, including Heineken®’s F1-inspired aluminium bottle, available exclusively at Heineken House experiences and select on-trade venues.

The day’s programme will begin with a dedicated Audi experience before guests transition to the Paddock Club for the Brazilian Grand Prix viewing.  From there, Heineken® takes centre stage as guests settle in for the race, accompanied by entertainment, hospitality and the collective energy of watching race Sunday together.

The music line-up will feature Thuly Thulz, Akio, McShawty and PH, before Sun-EL takes over for a celebratory hour following the race. Also joining the experience will be Kwenzo, Jaxx, Cassi, Sweet Guluva, Tyrone Jones and Zulu Mkhathini, bringing together personalities from across entertainment and culture.  While Heineken House is an exclusive event for invited guests, the broader Heineken® F1 experience extends nationwide, giving consumers across South Africa opportunities to get involved through The Paddock Club, giving consumers another way to get closer to the action.

At the heart of the campaign is The Paddock Club, Heineken’s digital rewards platform designed to turn Formula 1 excitement into an ongoing interactive experience.  Consumers can earn points by purchasing Heineken® products, taking part in F1-inspired trivia, collecting limited-edition bottles and competing with friends, with opportunities to access rewards including beer, hosting kits, limited-edition F1 beer packs and race-screening experiences.
