Lil Wayne makes top 10 of Forbes list of top-paid celebs under 30!

Forbes magazine dropped their list of the highest paid celebrities under 30 and Weezy F made the top 10, raking in $27 milli and putting him at position 8.  At age 29, the YMCMB boss sure did good, thanks to his album Tha Carter IV which sold 1 million copies in its first week.

However, all rappers (and musician’s alike) know that album sales ain’t the source of their dough. Wayne performed over 50 shows around the world – earning millions of rands per show, and he also launched his clothing label Trukfit. A big chunk of his cheque was also courtesy of his huge multimillion dollar endorsement deal with the coldrink Mountain Dew, a product of Pepsi.

Not to surprise anyone, Taylor Swift was crowned the richest young celeb in the USA. The 22 year old made a staggering $57 million between May 2011 and May this year – all courtesy of her albums and tours. Swift landed herself in the top 20 last year on the publications list of 100 Most Influential Entertainers.

She beat the Biebs who raked in $55 million at age 18. Rihanna sits at number 3 with $53 million and former number one Lady Gaga (who graces SA shores soon) came in at 4th place with $52 million. Katy Perry rounded up the top 5 spot with a very cool $45 milli.

Other notable places on the list went to Adele at number 6 who earned $35 million and the main actors in the Twilight movies (Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewert and Rob Pattison) occupied the other spaces in the top 10 with earnings that totaled $87.5 million together. It pays to be a vampire or a wolf right?
