WAV. Festival Brings R&B Energy to the Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards After-Party

Clear your weekend. WAV Festival has been named official after-party host for the Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards, bringing its signature DJs and unapologetic R&B energy to the country’s biggest night for creators.

Once the best creators in South Africa have received their flowers, the lights drop and WAV AFTER DARK takes over, with the hottest names in the game on the decks.

THE LINE-UP

  • Teddy Tumi is internationally recognised and moves between Hip-Hop, R&B and House.
  • Count Lupa keeps the floor moving with her high-voltage Afro House and Afro Tech.
  • DJ Radix is known for his signature “sound cocktails”, mixing Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Dancehall, R&B and Kwaito into something you can’t stop dancing to.
  • DJ Ethan is the rising R&B selector everyone’s about to be talking about. Catch him now so you can say you were there first.
  • DJ Venom is a radio and club DJ who brings hip hop and R&B to life on air and on dancefloors.

BERNINI JOINS THE CELEBRATION

Bernini is joining the Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards as an official sponsor of the after-party, adding to the line-up of brands coming together to make this year’s event one to remember. As WAV AFTER DARK gets underway, Bernini will be part of the celebrations, bringing its signature sparkle to the night as South Africa’s creator community comes together to celebrate.

ONE VENUE. ONE TICKET. ALL NIGHT.

The after-party takes place at the same venue as the awards, so once the last award is handed out, you just head to the dance floor. WAV After Dark kicks off at 22:00. There aren’t separate after-party tickets. Your awards ticket gets you in, and you’ll need one to be there.

HAVEN’T GOT YOUR TICKETS YET? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

The Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards take place on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at The Galleria in Sandton, Johannesburg. Doors open at 17:30 and the ceremony starts at 20:00.

Tickets are available on Quicket. Get yours now and spend the night with the creators, brands and culture-shapers who are rewriting the rules.

Good to know: This is an [18+] event. Dress code: Red carpet ready! Glam, suited and booted.

THE SHOW BEFORE THE PARTY

Comedian Mpho “Popps” Modikoane hosts the ceremony, with 20 awards being handed out on the night. The stage isn’t just for speeches though. The six nominees in the 947 Sound of Tomorrow category (Chesrae Megan, Carter Najar, Lordkez, Lukiemusic, Mikhalé Jones and Teagan’s Things) will perform an eight-minute music medley.

Then the dance nominees take over. Chad Jones, Benny Jnr, Ludopie, Rudi Smit and TDO Thando will join forces for a live performance, choreographed by nominee Benny Jnr himself.

Add a star-studded line-up of presenters and a few celebrity surprises we’re not allowed to talk about yet, and this is one night you’ll want to see in person, not on someone else’s Stories.

THE AFTER PARTY: WAV AFTER DARK

For WAV Festival, hosting the after-party celebrates the intersection of R&B, creativity and the culture shaping entertainment today through WAV AFTER DARK. WAV Festival returns to Cape Town on 2 January 2027 and makes its Pretoria debut at SunBet Arena on 3 January 2027, headlined by Ty Dolla $ign and KWN.

THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT HAPPEN
