A new wave of South African artists is breaking onto the global stage — and Money Badoo is leading the charge. The genre-bending artist returns with her boldest release yet, RUDEBOI, dropping 17 April via Paradise Sound System. The single serves as the lead track for her highly anticipated EP 4PLAY, set to arrive 5 June.

Created in Berlin alongside producer Lisa Kida during her first visit to the city, RUDEBOI is a confident, playful fusion of alternative R&B, trap, and hyperpop. It’s an unfiltered ode to Rihanna’s energy, celebrating good vibes, finding your people wherever you are, and getting to the money.
“Berlin gave me permission to be louder, softer, and more experimental all at once,” says Money Badoo. “RUDEBOI is what it sounds like when you stop second-guessing yourself.”

The track marks a major moment in her evolution, leading into her UK debut at The Great Escape Festival on 15 May, supported by the SAMPRA Development Fund. SAMPRA (the South African Music Performance Rights Association) is a collective management organisation that represents recording artists and record companies, ensuring they receive fair royalties when their music is broadcast or played publicly. The SAMPRA Development Fund supports the growth of the South African music industry by funding education, skills development, and opportunities for artists to travel overseas and perform at international music events.

More than just a musician, Money Badoo is building a fearless multidisciplinary identity across music, fashion, and culture. With 4PLAY, she’s delivering foreplay to her next chapter — one where South African artists no longer shrink themselves to fit global stages. The world is starting to pay attention.
