2020wayfly is a South African artist from Sebokeng, with roots in Tshepong, whose music is deeply shaped by real-life experience. Two years ago, following the birth of his daughter, 2020wayfly entered one of the most challenging seasons of his life. In the same moment that he became a father, he also lost his job, forcing him to navigate uncertainty, pressure, and responsibility all at once. Just a year later, he suffered the devastating loss of his father, a moment that shook him deeply and forever altered his perspective, spirit, and art.
In the midst of grief and transition, music became both refuge and release. It became the space where 2020wayfly could process loss, confront his fears, and find meaning in survival. From that place, he began composing a body of work that reflects his journey as a man, a father, and an artist.
