One of my favourite things about the South African music scene is our ability to create a broad range of sounds and executions of sonics. Recently, Namakau Star released a spiritual single titled “IYDK”. In what feels like a return to a sound I came to adore her for, the song feels like home. From the onset, the warm and soulful production captures your imagination. Namakau Star’s soothing vocals follow suit with her singing, “The higher heavens, they be taking all my calls”.
