We were invited to the Miller Lime pop-up activation at The Zone Rosebank. The setup was a boutique activation space dressed in Miller Lime branding. No one knew what to expect as it remained relatively quiet until the influencers arrived. They generated quite a bit of buzz from onlookers passing by and people in restaurants in close proximity to the pop-up activation. The space was immediately packed with colour full personalities while the Miller Lime was flowing. In the activation pop up there were two main photography spaces for creators and attendees alike. We got the opportunity for a quick Q&A with the influencers and members of the brand and this is what they had to say.
Boogy Maboi

My name is Boogy Maboi and I am the best stylist… I want to say in the country but I’ll say the continent!
How did your relationship with the brand come about?
They were looking for people who have a refreshing new edge to introduce the new Miller Lime flavour and they called one of the freshest in the game… it’s too easy!
What do you gain from this relationship?
I think that I love the environment the brand has created for us. It is all about being around friends and loved ones, and having a good time with them while drinking Miller Lime… it’s Miller Lime Time!

For those who don’t know you please tell us your name and what you are about.
My name is Lebo and I am a fashion boy; I love fashion culture. I am also a Vogue dancer and yeah, that’s what I am pushing.
How did your relationship with the brand develop and what are you guys doing together in terms of synergies?
The brand hit me up on IG and they told me that they were obsessed with the work that I do and my overall aesthetic. From that conversation, they told me that they have something fresh coming up and that they said that I am the boy for it. Since then, I’ve been getting spoiled. The other day they spoiled me with a voucher for Egg and I went out and got a number of beautiful items.
What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, It’s Miller Lime?
I love lime and naturally, I love Miller Lime because it’s refreshing and it’s something that’s going to make people enjoy beer.

My name is Mamthug and I am your favourite DJ’s favourite DJ and that’s about it!
How did your relationship with the brand come about?
They were in the process of finding really good talent and they found me. I was also in the top 3 of the Miller search they did the Boiler Room in Cape Town, and the relationship grew organically from there.
What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, It’s Miller Lime Time?
I think of gold and that everything that sparkles, might just be gold. I say gold and sparkles because those aspects are associated with a good time and refreshment. You just never know what Miller is going to do and I remember from all the way back in my varsity days, Miller has been that girlie that roots for fresh talent and refreshing scenes.
Phantom Steeze

My name Phantom Steeze and I am about the good life and everything nice. If you don’t know me it ain’t nothing but a little ting ting.
How did your relationship with the brand come about?
One of the people on the brand side knew me and they checked out my profile and they loved it. They said they like my vibe and the energy I have, and that’s basically how the relationship formed.
What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, It’s Miller Lime Time?
Green, like the colour of lime and I also think about how refreshing it is. When you look at the drink, you can see that it is not a normal drink, it is more like a day drink that you enjoy on a day you would spend with your friends.

Khotso: My name Khotso and I am the portfolio manager for Miller.
Djordje: My name is Djordje and I am the regional global marketing manager for Miller
Can you tell me about the conceptualisation and ideation of this new Lime flavoured Miller?
Khotso: We saw a gap in the market and we also have the right weather conditions for the brand, so it makes sense that we have real Miller with a hint of Lime.
You mentioned South Africa having the right weather conditions for Miller Lime. Where do you envision Miller Lime being consumed?
Djordje: This product is the perfect refreshment but it is also a very versatile offering. You can have it poolside with your friends or you could have it as a quick refresher after work with your colleagues.
What is the one word that people should think of when they hear the phrase ‘It’s Miller Lime Time’?
Khotso: Refreshing.
