Apple Music celebrates 50 years of Hip-Hop with the launch of ‘Hip-Hop DNA’ audio series

Yo, music lovers! Apple Music is turning up the heat with a new audio series called Hip-Hop DNA, celebrating 50 years of the iconic music genre. Hosted by Ebro Darden, global editorial head of hip-hop and R&B, the series will explore the roots of hip-hop and how artists have been influenced by each other over the years. The series is divided into four parts, with the first nine episodes titled “Origins” focusing on the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, and South regions. The following episodes will delve into the crafts of MCing, production, and DJing. Hip-Hop DNA is a must-listen for both new and seasoned hip-hop fans, giving you a deeper understanding of the connections within the music.

In the introductory episode, we’ll take you on a journey to uncover how hip-hop has evolved over time, tracing its roots from KRS-One to Cardi B and French Montana in the Bronx Tale episode.
