Xhosa Songstress Viwe Tyolwana Set To Drop New #NGOKU Project This February

R&B sensation VIWE is ready to drop her long awaited project called #NGOKU via Independent label Unmuted Records on February 4th. With her trademark intensity and sensational vocals, the South African artist is said to deliver a  new level of honesty and passion that all her fans have come to expect from her sound.

NGOKU meaning ” NOW“ in her native tongue, includes guest appearances by Limpopo artist and super -producer Lincoln Long and Unmuted’s very own ” Don’t be Dope “Rapper – Draper. To solidify the projects authenticity Viwe’s mother can be heard on the offering as well, her voice adding a haunting appeal that is relatable to anyone who finds themselves in the middle of the “ Joburg hustle”. The project features production predominantly by Unmuted co-founder Lincoln Long and South African  Award winning producer John Lundun.

#NGOKU is a reflection of some of the perspectives I hold about living my life with some kind of immediacy and accountability. For me , this EP screams “ Tell the truth about what you want” even if you change your mind later , just go for it!  I think we are all already doing our best and so we might as well do it with compassion, authenticity and most of all JOY – VIWE

Previously released singles from the project namely ‘Rapture’ and ‘Drifting’ are said to have heightened the anticipation for the project’s release and has earned coveted spots on multiple platforms including Radio 702 , Mzansi Magic , SABC 1 Morning Live, Umhlobo Wenene FM, Daily Sun, IOL, Algoa FM, Radio Teemaneng , SlikouronLife , Homecoming Picnic- Breakfast Club,  Unmute the City- Night Embassy with Jägermeister to name a few.

As an independent singer and songwriter , I hope people get an opportunity to listen to the album from the beginning right to end. For me, that is the true prize – VIWE
