Tomorrow all eyes will be on Def Jam signee, Nasty C, as he is set to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show together with Ari Lennox to perform their collaborative ‘Black And White’ song. Back in June 2020, Nasty C performed his socially-conscious song, ‘They Don’t’, on Late Night With Seth Meyers and tomorrow, he’ll be on American television (his first day-time debut in fact) once again.
“This is my daytime American television debut and it’s so dope that it’s with The Ellen DeGeneres Show. I’m eager to share my music with a new audience and represent South Africa.” – Nasty C
Within just 4 days of its premiere, ‘Black And White’ surpassed a million views and was one of YouTube’s top 3 trending videos for several days. Directed by Kyle White, the video sees Nasty C making time for long-distance love as he gifts his American collaborator a bouquet of roses. In a twist of life imitating art, Nasty C treated many leading ladies of African pop culture to their own bouquets on Valentine’s Day which included Kenyan media personality Wanjira Langauer and the South African star of Coming 2 America, Nomzamo Mbatha, who received her bouquet in Los Angeles.
‘Black and White’ is also the lead single offRhythms of Zamunda, the compilation inspired by Coming 2 America. In anticipation of the Amazon Prime film’s release, Nasty C’s song has also been named Tune of the Week by BBC Radio 1.
In other news, today also marks the premiere of Nasty C’s Zulu Man With Some Power Podcastat 18:00 CAT.
