AKA’s new Bhovamania EP has finally dropped today… Coming in with a full 13-track offering, this new Supa Mega body of work is said to “address matters of the heart, mind, and soul over EDM, Afropop, and house music.” It’s quite a heavy sampled project which is an element one can always expect from AKA since he is so damn good at the art of repurposing music. And in terms of features, the likes of K.O., Don Design, Moozlie, Flvme, Gemini Major, Sho Madjozi, L-Tido, Yanga Chief, and the iconic Grandmaster Ready D are found.

“I tried to play on that throughout the album to give it that kind of texture and all those wrestling clips gave it that feel. In hip hop you project a persona, sometimes get stuck in character and become a bit larger than life with all the drama and over-the-top-ness.” – AKA told apple music when speaking about how there’s a lot of electric guitar on the album referencing the style seen & heard on WWE vintage wrestler entrance themes.
