The highly anticipated Season 2 of JR’s Feel Good Live Sessions (FGLS) is set to be bigger than its debut season. Founder and curator of the sought-after live performance YouTube channel – rapper and record producer JR – has announced a partnership with Martell Cognac and a broadcast deal with MTV Base that will bring the live sessions to even more music lovers.
JR’s Feel Good Live Sessions, one of fastest growing YouTube music channels in the continent, is an African music series that has created a platform for viewers to watch their favourite artists perform in a non-conventional and different setting. Shot behind breath-taking scenery and packaged in world-class visuals, FGLS is enjoyed by audiences with a premium ear, eye and taste for alternative musical consumption.
“We are very excited about the developments for Season 2 and the mix bag of goodies lined up for lovers of the art behind the music,” says JR. “We were looking to grow the FGLS brand with like-minded brands for our 2nd season and I’m personally thrilled that Martell Cognac, one of the world’s great cognac houses shared our vision of bringing more engagement with featured artists and profiling not only their music but the creative process that goes into producing and performing world-class music. We are privileged that MTV Base Africa saw it equally important that the sessions are syndicated to a larger audience beyond our online reach.”
“We are excited to partner with FGLS and MTV to bring these intimate and unique performances to an even wider audience and give people the opportunity to truly enjoy their favourite musicians’ craft in an authentic and meaningful manner” says Brand Manager Etienne Cassuto of Pernod Ricard South Africa. “Martell Cognac celebrates and inspires those who have the courage to be curious, take the unconventional path and make new discoveries, that is why we wanted to profile the artists to celebrate their journey and allow their fans to discover some of their most-preciously guarded secrets.”
Some of the new additions on FGLS include never-seen-before Martell Behind the Scenes footage that can be viewed by audiences on the Martell Cognac website https://www.martell.com/en-za/ which feature artists’ showcasing their creative process, sharing what it means for them to be curious, rehearsing for the show as well as in-depth discussions about their careers, sources of inspiration and what to expect in the future.
