At the end of an epic era in 2015, HomeComing Events (Pty) Ltd announced the last edition of their flagship HomeComing Picnic event. This announcement left many patrons and punters in the entertainment industry baffled as many believed the brand to be at its peak.
At the time of the final picnic in October 2015, HomeComing Events CEO, Katlego Malatji explained that the company felt the need to take their brand to the next level and develop a concept that would place them on an international level to compete with renowned events and festivals.
“On the success of our previous flagship event, Homecoming Picnic, we are launching HomeComing Africa (HCA) on October the 1st, 2016. This event will be bigger and better in every aspect than the last picnic. We are expecting a crowd of about sixteen thousand and based off previous events hosted by HomeComing Events at the Silver Falcon rugby club; we have assessed that the venue capacity will be able to accommodate us comfortably,” – HomeComing Events CEO, Katlego Malatji.
HomeComingAfrica is set to be one of the biggest music festivals in South Africa and aims to grow into one of the biggest on the continent. This event will set the tone for what HomeComing Events is trying to achieve throughout the country and the rest of the continent, as the name suggests. The HomeComingAfrica line up boasts of a mix of local and International acts and as always, the surprise act which you do not want to miss out on.
