T.R.I.X.X

Port Elizabeth’s TRIXX (born Trevor Kasika), has just dropped his anticipated debut single called ‘EKSE‘. Produced by Staxxx, the initial idea behind this song is said to have come through TRIXX’s reflections of his origins in the PE township of Ebhayi, where he stayed motivated out on the streets by listening and searching for music and killing beats. A4 HYPE logo

The most annoying thing for me has been seeing whack a** rappers take the rap art form for granted as though it was just another way to spin off and get paid or attention for their prancing on stage and/or having influential friends in key positions in the music business and what not; which strips the game of the blood sweat and tears we’ve put in from day 1 to get the recognition African hip hop has today, but more importantly the acceptance from our African parents/elder relatives. I remember how they never took us serious when we were emulating these overseas artists, and that was just for us to be able to break free from not only racial oppression, but chasing after mental emancipation to carve our own identity in the world: which we have today. So in a nutshell the track is a caution from me to all those gimmick focused rap acts out hereT.R.I.X.X
