The 3RD Annual Youth Hip Hop Festival Is On The Way

The 3rd Annual Youth Hip Hop Festival is on the way. Now in its third year, the annual hip hop massive spectacle is scheduled to take place on the 10-11 June 2016 and has expanded its influence by including a youth talent development programme that will seek to discover and nurture young musicians looking to break in to the hip hop industry. This artist development programme was launched in April at the BAT Centre in Durban and auditions were held to unearth fresh South Africa talent in province. The search focuses on young hip hop vocalists, rappers, MCs and DJs.

On the first day of the festival, top industry players will host a series of workshops focused on empowering young musicians in the province.  The second day of the festival a collective of these young musicians will get to perform alongside some of South Africa’s top artists at the all-day youth concert.

24 artists emerging from the artist development programme will get a spot to share the stage with South Africa’s top hip hop artists at the main event. The line-up for the festival includes over 20 headlining local artist and DJs along with an International act. So far the likes of Riky Rick, Major League, Junior De Rocka and WTF are included in the line-up. Other acts are still to be confirmed so expect the full line-up list to be released by next Wednesday.
