TIDAL has only been in the streaming services playing field for a short while now and its only advantage at keeping ahead of other prominent streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music appears to be their exclusivity in music releases. TIDAL more than doubled its subscriber base from 1 million to 2.5 million after Kanye West released TLOP and now Beyonce’s Lemonade, which is still available exclusively on TIDAL, has added an impressive couple more subscribers. According to the New York Times, TIDAL has gained 1.2 million new subscribers in the week after Beyonce released Lemonade. Although TIDAL is still below the 5 million subscriber bar, a far cry compared to Apple’s 13 million and Spotify’s 30+ million, these exclusive releases are clearly turning out to be fruitful.
