Mos Def just dropped a statement about being detained in South Africa in the form of a freestyle posted on Kanye West’s website. The freestyle paints a picture on how he feels about being detained in SA and goes on chanting “No More Parties in SA”. Recorded in Cape Town South Africa, Mos Def was arrested last week after he attempted to leave Cape Town by producing an unrecognized ‘world passport’. This document was declined by immigration officials at Cape Town International Airport and in the freestyle Mos Def raps, “Please tell them no more parties in SA/Hey Home Affairs I don’t need to stay/Why don’t I feel safe/This isn’t an expression of fear”.
He further more speaks about his concerns for his family and how what happened does not change his opinions & love for SA, as well as his plans to drop a new album this year.
