Legendary American hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan have just sold their Once Upon A Time in Shaolin secret album for an undisclosed amount in a private sale. The one-of-a-kind album is the only copy produced and earlier this year the arguably best rap group ever announced that the 31-track double album, which had been recorded in secret over a six year period, would be sold in a private auction rather than go public.
The album mostly produced by Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzougarh, is said to have been sold by the online auction house Paddle8 and although Paddle8 representatives refuse to name the buyer or price, RZA has said that the terms of the sale will include the stipulation that it may not be reproduced, distributed or otherwise leaked for 88 years after the date of purchase, at that point, it will be up to the owner whether or not they’d like to make it public.
Considering that the album was sold through an auction, we can pretty much assume that who copped paid some serious racks for it. Word to the Wu for another innovative move.
