Nyovest is on a run like no other. Between pulling off the biggest one man show in the country, dropping his sophomore album next week, shooting ads and working on designing his own range of Cellphones with AG Mobile, it seems Cassper has the time to mess around and become the wealthiest man in music too.
Yesterday a deal that he has been hinting at for a while came to fruition when he took to Twitter to announce that his partnership with network provider MTN was locked and sealed. The deal will, in part, involve Cassper becoming the face of the brand across the continent.” At this stage, the financial details are still unknown but Nyovest insists that it is the “biggest endorsement deal in South African music history.” But you don’t have to just believe him. Music legend Oskido, whose Kalawa record company helped to manage the distribution of Cassper’s first album, drove the screw in tweeting to Cassper “with all those lotto figures I hope you invest wisely.” Now, if you know anything about this guy it’s that in the twenty-plus years he’s been in the industry, he’s seen a lot of gwap. So for him to say that to Cassper means a lot.
“It’s good for Cassper at his age to achieve so much, and signing such a lucrative deal. I hope he is going to invest wisely and is also going to encourage a lot of other young artists to take their brands seriously and treat themselves as businesses,” Oskido said.
