Spoek Mathambo Releases ‘Future Sound of Mzansi’ Documentary On Youtube

After the documentary was privately screened around South Africa and then showcased at film festivals overseas, it has just dropped on YouTube. Spoek Mathambo releases his ‘Future Sounds of Mzansi’ doccie showcasing the South African electronic music scene.

Directed by Nthato Mokgata and Lebogang Rasethaba, the doccie features interviews from some the industry’s leading artists and producers. Culoe de Song and Black Coffee touch on house music as a dance force in Africa and how it resonates with the people. BoyznBucks’s OkMalumkoolkat recollects his uMlazi, Durban upbringing and how his surroundings molded his unique brand of hip hop, kwaito, house and electronic sound.

Other interviews include producers Christian Tiger School, Richard the Third and electronic DJ Sibot touch on electronic music and where it all started after being in the game for over 10 years.

With a very interesting perspective on the local musical landscape, the documentary is a must see for all.
