From being the Louis Vuitton Don to Yeezus, and now you can add another moniker to the kid of from Chicago: Dr.Kanye West.
Yup, yesterday the School of the Arts Institute in Chicago recognised Kanye West for his “transformative genre-defying work” during the school’s graduation ceremony, awarding him an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts.
Ironic that the thing that would kick off his journey to this point would be titled College Dropout. During the ceremony, ‘Ye was described as a visionary and his ambitious career was said to be a true reflection of the creative spirit. “This honour is gonna make your lives easier. Two reasons” he said during his speech. “You don’t have to defend me as much. And, I’m gonna make all of our lives easier, and it’s these Floyd Mayweather belts that are needed to prove what I’ve been saying my entire life” he said.
