It’s a surprise that the Super Doro Mega has enough time to do anything considering he’s been touring Africa over the past three weeks and is also preparing for his first kid with longtime girlfriend DJ Zintle.
This week his label Vth Season announced the release of Levels Unlocked in stored nationwide. The disc is really the initial Levels album that has been repackaged with a noir pallet, and supplemented with exclusive behind the scenes footage from the making of the album as well as live performances and music videos.
This makes AKA the second SA rapper this year to rel-release an album from last year. Cassper did it in celebration of his platinum status for Tsholofelo a little over a week ago, on which exclusive footage is also available.
This is a smart trend to hop onto because it allows for a second wave of promotion between albums. And with the exception of Teargas on their second album which went gold, the DVD space has not been one that has been explored in local hip hop too much, which is unfortunate because the Afrikaans, classical and gospel markets clean up every year off sales.
