Electronic hip hop outfit, PHFAT released their latest single, ‘Lights Out’, featuring the magnificent JungFreud (AKA Nonku), earlier this year. Since then, the single bagged over 75,000 plays, 2,220 favourites and 8,000 downloads on SoundCloud. This single proved to be PHFAT’s biggest one yet, receiving airplay from 13 stations across the country, including 5FM, YFM and Good Hope FM. ‘Lights Out’ also scored Number 1’s on MFM 92.6’s Hip Hop and SA Top 10 charts.
PHFAT recently returned from a tour to Australia. “It was kiff visiting that place near the bottom of the earth and to make kiff new friends, but now we want to see our old friends and have a kiff time with them also. Plus we’ve never told anyone this, but once a year we like to take holiday up the East Coast and call it a tour so our manager thinks we’re working,” says Smooth Mike.
The guys are about to embark on another tour and they are also busy with a new single which also features JungFreud. The single will be released later this year while the guys are in studio working on a brand new album.
