Grammy night came and went – and surprise, surprise Macklemore and Ryan Lewis took all the awards in the respective hip hop categories. Haters? Yes we are. Here at the HYPE offices we were all rooting for a Kendrick victory in the Best Album category. But in actual fact, any win would do over Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Not because they’re probably dope, but seriously now – over Drake, Jigga, Kanye & KDot – are you serious Grammy judges? And talking about wins, 9 time nominee Jigga only scored two wins for Best rap/sung collaboration for the track ‘Holy Grail’ with JT, as well as for Best Short-form music video for ‘Suit & Tie’. We’ll take Hater of the Day award today, it’s for a good cause.
The night though undoubtedly belonged to Pharell Williams who scooped multiple awards for his great work he did in 2013, mostly for his Daft Punk collaborations. Check out the list of winners and let us know your thoughts.
