Founded by Running With the Reps spin master, DJ Capital and young entrepreneur Makhosini Sihlali, 4Play Media is on the comeup in a big way. Most notable for spawning the notorious weekly event, All Love Sundays (ALS) and also for being the home of young stars such as MTV Base’s Nomuzi Mabena and DJ Speedsta, thes moguls are expanding their repertoire to unimagined heights and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do stop them. We kicked it with frontman, Mr Makhosini to get the 411 on this Saturday’s (5 October) upcoming gig, 4 Play Fest.


First things first. What is the 4Play Fest?

4Play Fest is our 1st annual experiantial outdoor event. Dubbed “Adult Fun Day” by our followers, its generally a fun day for the young urban youth. Filled with fun activities that will have you remembering your childhood. We are bringing mechanical bulls, beer gardens and a Miller gaming area. It will a fun filled day!

Together with Showlove, 4Play is responsible for the official Monday hangover via probably the most successful weekly event, ALS. Why the decision to make the move from the club to an outdoor environment for this one?

 We are always trying out experiantial events as 4Play Media. After doing the last day of the Wits Beer for 2 years, we saw the gap for an outdoor event that will cater for the urban youth. This will be the 1st of many outdoor events that we are trying out. So watch this space.

Who will be performing on the 4Play stage?

 We have Khuli Chana, Cassper Nyovest, Black Motion, Bricks and Mgarimbe of Sister Bettinah fame as the main act that everyone is looking forward to.

Other than the performances, what other activities can people look forward to on the day?

We have actually sourced a mechanical bull, which we think will be an exciting feature. We also have a Miller Gaming Area, which will have arcade games. Exciting times ahead.


Any other projects 4Play is working on at the moment before we wrap up 2013?

We invade Cape Town this December. We are planning two events during the festive season there. Our plans include club events, and most are aimed at 2014. Our November plan is also a big one, we will be making an announcement about that within the next 2 weeks.

What is the eventual ultimate vision for 4Play Media?

We plan on growing 4Play Media into an all media company. We want to branch out into so many more divisions like Music, Modeling, Artist Management et al. We want to be South Africa biggest urban youth powerhouse. This is the year we stamp our foot
