DJ PAPERCUTT drops “THE MADIBA TAPE”, a 67Minute Mixtape/Audio documentary Tribute to Nelson Mandela
Breaking news! 18 July is the birthday of Nelson Mandela and the world is encouraged to devote 67 minutes of their time to public service, all in the spirit of humanitarianism. DJ Papercutt came to a realization that a lot of young people don’t realize the role that music played in the fight for freedom. Putting together an audio collage of different songs, interviews and speeches that will educate people about Nelson Mandela in a innovative way, the 67 Minute mix embodies songs that were dedicated to Mandela when he was locked up on Robben Island and a few to celebrate his release. Some of the songs were popular and became hit records while others were even banned from being played in South Africa.
