Born Sinner Reaches #1 on Billboard Top 200 Chart

J Cole proudly scooped top position for this critically acclaimed album Born Sinner, becoming the first male hip hop artist in 12 years to have an album hit #1 after debuting outside of the top spot. The self-produced album which sold 297,000 units in the first week is now officially sitting on almost half a million copies. Apart from the charts it also went to #1 on the digital charts. The German-born American rapper from North Carolina is on top of his game and earning his strips with each move he makes.

Released as both a standard version with 16 tracks and a deluxe version with 21 tracks, Born Sinner contains features from Grammy Award winner Miguel, TLC, Kendrick Lamar, Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors and @Fauntleroy.  An adept live performer, J. Cole performed both “Power Trip” featuring Miguel and “Crooked Smile” featuring TLC to a 500,000 person crowd at The Philly Fourth of July Jam, the signature event of the Wawa Welcome America Festival, in Philadelphia, billed as the “Largest Free Concert in America.” J. Cole headlined the festival alongside The Roots, Jill Scott and John Mayer.
