Aspiring and upcoming dancers and DJ’s have had a once in a lifetime opportunity to make their dreams come true through the McDonalds’ Street Rhythm competition that seeks to encourage individuals and groups to showcase their talents in DJ’ing and dancing.
Friday, 28 June is the date set for the final stage of the competition that will see eight finalists (4 dance crews and 4 DJ’s) from Joburg, Cape Town, KZN and PE vie for the ultimate prize, with the comp going down at Zone 6 in Diepkloof.
This national competition has prominent local DJ’s including Euphonik, DJ Shimza, Major League, DJ PH, DJ Franky, DJ Spectacular, DJ Naves, DJ Warras, DJ Jean Fuel, DJ Kaunda, DJ Lloyd, Ms Cosmo, and Donald as its ambassadors.
Prizes to be won include R50,000 (inclusive of DJ equipment and a management contract or cash divided evenly between dance crew members), Shure SHR550DJ headsets valued at R2,000 (for the DJ winner), professional portfolio photo shoot by Christiaan Hattingh, Butan Street Wear and Nike clothing hampers, Nokia Lumia smartphones valued at R8,500 and more.
