Next weekend marks the dopest weekend of the month as Snoop Lion lands in SA. First off we hope he’s not carrying any illegal substances – and actually gets to perform this time around. And if he gets the green light from airport officials then we all gonna be droppin’ like it’s hot (if he does perform his tracks when he was known as Snoop Dogg that is). First off is the MTV Africa All Stars KwaZulu-Natal show, a 5 hour open air concert at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday 18 May. He’s gonna be performing alongside the likes of Zakes Bantwini, Professor, 2Face, Camp Mulla, Zahara, D’banj, Big Nuz and more. One thing’s for sure – Durban definitely knows how to party hard.
Before the big show, on Friday 17 May MTV Base and KwaZulu-Natal officials joined forces to help contemporary musicians and music students by conducting a music industry workshop, which is being held at the Playhouse from 9.30 – 2pm. Moderated by Sizwe Dhlomo, the free workshop will give insight into the music business and tap into the insights of industry leaders such as Dj Cleo, top artist managers, Gagasi FM programming manager Vukile Zondi, publicist Farah Fortune and other heavyweights.
