SA Hip Hop activist Emile YX has added another milestone to his many accomplishments. The veteran has just completed his 4th solo album to celebrate 30 years of Hip Hop in South Africa.
Emile started break-dancing in 1982 and will tour the 30 communities in the Western Cape starting on the 4th November 2012 to perform and share his experience with the youth of the Western Cape.
The album is titled Born and Bred On The Cape Flats and features a variety of artists from as far away as Sweden, USA, Senegal and Australia amongst others. The features also include talent from surrounding areas of the Cape, Mitchells Plain, Lavender Hill, Lotus River and Khayelitsha.
The 12 track project will be released with a music video called “Born and Bred on the Cape Flats”. The single has been played by prestigious network MTV in the USA. We can only hope for great success for the project and Emile YX.
