Undisputedly one of hip hop’s BIGGEST nights of the year, the annual BET Hip Hop Awards took place over the weekend, but will only air in the US on 9 October. Hosted by Mike Epps, one of the most anticipated items on the night is The Cypher which will include, wait for it – 43 MCs! They include the likes of Snoop, Kurupt, Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Iggy Azalea, T.I, DMX, Talib Kweli, Mystikal, Eve, BOB, Dricky Graham, Childish Gambino, RZA and E40. This is COLOSSAL people!!!!!
When I first checked out the nominees list I broke out into a sweat. Drake is in almost every single category and the lists see people like J Cole going up against Jigga and Kendrick Lamar in the Lyricist list. It’s tightly contested, with 2 Chainz, Kanye West, Drake, A$AP Rocky and J Cole scooping the most nominations. Check out some of the nominees:
