Morale leaves his record label

Self-proclaimed ‘Mr Jo’burg’ has left his management company, namely H.U.G.E Entertainment, which is spearheaded by Mr Vusi Leeuw, the acclaimed A&R who recently had a hand in discovering Toya Delazy. HYPE caught up with the rapper who had this to say: “I am no longer with H.U.G.E because I felt the administration of things wasn’t to the standard I expected. With that said Vusi Leeuw decided to pursue a career in digital downloads instead of running H.U.G.E as an artist management company.” Morale also confirmed that Sean Pages and 985 have also left H.U.G.E Entertainment.

It seems that Morale just can’t seem to find deals he’s entirely happy and stable with. In the last three years he was in talks with Ghetto Ruff, then he signed a licensing deal with Uproot Records (home of Koldproduk) then there were talks about signing to the Crous team which no longer exists. The one thing constant about Morale has always been the fact that he’s been signed to his own label Neo Shanty. He’s always owned his master and handled his own publishing along with Sony/ATV.

Fans can rest assured that Morale’s album Smile, Clap & Bow is still a Neo Shanty & H.U.G.E project that is distributed by IMD and is available at all major CD retail stores. Look out for his new single called ‘No One’. The video for the song was exclusively debuted at number 1 on The Club 808 Top 5 chart.
