Dynamic – producer spotlight!

king-of-the-labTaking the spot as our producer in the Oct/Nov issue of HYPE, Soweto born and bred producer is as Dynamic as his name suggests. Check out more from this beat-maker.

What releases can we expect soon?

Shynin Armour just wrapped up his album Pieces Rugged. I’ve been putting in work with DNA, Adict , Mawe2, DJ Kenzhero , Luvly Beatz [from UK ] 730 & Young Stac [From ATL]. Then it’s my Mixtape RHYME CHAMBER II RISE OF THE TITANS.

Has your career been lucrative so far?

I wouldn’t say that because I’m not really that known yet as producer in the industry. Not a lot of guys know my production but some had an ear open for my work but if I see my work been put out there I would say my career will be lucrative.

What do you do apart from production?

I do sound engineering and I’m gunning for my production services for adverts and movies at the moment.

Where are we in terms of hip hop in SA in your opinion?

Hip Hop right now doesn’t have a strong market to buy albums. We still need another 10 more years to build a strong fan base. What we must do first is stop lying to ourselves that record sales are doing numbers SA. Theirs is no industry yet if you look at house cats right now they build their own market to have a fan base to buy albums. Right now we still need more work to reach there.

Name 5 songs that you currently have on repeat?

We get Grizzly – 730 Young Stack & Ginger Bread Man

Shyning Armour ft Dark Spark – Word Play

Freddie Joachim – Splendor

Meek Mill – Work

Whosane & Draztik – Chasing After Money.

You’ve worked with more non-commercial MCs. Is that your Conscious decision?

Yes I did at one point but most cats I worked with on the underground side never pushed their music further. I stopped working with them because they were not putting work and dedication [into it]. I took my sound further & dedicatee it to people who want work but the fact remains that guys who do underground will always stay there because I was stuck there for 10 years. Time changes I want to make bread in what I do. I hired marketing & PR company TNR Media to push my Music & my Production further.
