ARTIS artist PATRICKxxLee has just dropped a brand new record titled ‘Pocahontas’. This new record comes after the young rising star dropped the visuals for his ‘Dark Paradise’ joint almost 2 weeks ago. PATRICKxxLee teased the new record during the exclusive ARTIS (invite only) ‘A Night In Paradise’ party that found the likes of J Molley, Champagne69 and more taking part in the experience. ‘Pocahontas’ is said to be his first single off his upcoming first studio album set to be called Diaries Of An Arsonist, thus the smoke behind the singles artwork.
“‘Pocahontas’ is a lonely song, after getting your heart broken, and getting over that emptiness. It’s about getting lost in the night with someone, not with a person you love, but with someone who gives you that feeling of love. ‘Pocahontas’ is a rebellious girl that doesn’t care much about love, and a metaphor for all the girls I’ve fiended with. It’s a play on that intoxicated club love you look for late at night, which isn’t real love of course, but you look for someone to replace the someone you lost, and numb the real feelings. So in the song, I’m searching for this type of girl in the club, fully aware that you can’t find love in a club, because everyone is just looking for a temporary experience of what “Love” feels like, but that’s exactly what I want at that point, because I ain’t never going back to the one that broke my heart. ‘Pocahontas’ is the first single off my first studio album Diary Of An Arsonist. The concept of the album is me setting my life on fire, wild and uncontrollable. Fire keeps burning, as long as it connects to something, and I feel that the flames around me keep setting things on fire, untamed and without regard for what’s going down with it. Diary Of An Arsonist is about the highs and lows I’ve experienced over the past few years, the struggles of growing up and coming up, and a very honest reflection of what’s been going on in my life and generally in the society around us.” – PATRICKxxLEE
