For those who have been watching, the name is familiar. Cynic SA, born Thato Monageng, started making music back in 2018 in Daveyton with nothing but a phone and a story to tell. He wasn’t trying to be famous. He was trying to be heard.<\/p>\n
He raps what he lives. Kasi reality, late nights, love, loss, and the pressure of trying to make it out when the odds are stacked. In a scene full of fiction, his honesty stood out.<\/p>\n
In 2021 he put that story together in his first project, the Razzmatazz Calling EP. A drill-leaning project, raw and unfiltered, built on hard 808s and honest bars. Tracks like Ama International showed early that he could blend kasi storytelling with drill energy. It built a small but loyal following on SoundCloud and Audiomack with no promo, no label, no co-sign. Just word of mouth in the kasi and people who felt his sound.<\/p>\n
Then he disappeared.<\/p>\n
It wasn’t a stunt. He stepped back to grow. Life happened. He needed to live a little more so he would have more to write about. For a while, the pages were quiet.<\/p>\n
He came back in 2026 different. Sharper. More honest. More focused. The boy who started in 2018 came back as a man who knew exactly what he wanted to say.<\/p>\n
That return came in the form of “Worst Comes To Worst.” Released on July 31, 2026, the single is his re-introduction letter. It’s not just a song, it’s a statement: if worst comes to worst, he will still be here, still rapping, still telling the truth about where he’s from.<\/p>\n
