South African artist Skypstar Nozinator steps into a new musical chapter with the release of his debut album RnB Ya Pitori, an eight-track project blending smooth R&B textures with jazz and lofi influences. Released on March 13, 2026, the project marks a bold creative shift for the experimental musician, presenting a sound that is both nostalgic and modern.
While many artists spend years searching for their musical identity, Skypstar approaches music from a different angle — experimentation. Known for creating drastically different sounds from one song to the next, he embraces artistic freedom as part of his identity.
“Every sound I create is extremely different from the other,” he explains. “The only thing that will distinguish that it’s me is the verse — you’ll feel it.”
The Meaning Behind RnB Ya Pitori
The album’s title translates loosely to “R&B from Pretoria,” referencing Skypstar’s hometown. However, the project isn’t strictly about the city’s culture. Instead, it represents his personal interpretation of R&B through the lens of his own experiences and musical instincts.
The project draws inspiration from contemporary R&B influences such as Jacquees and Charlie Puth, while also incorporating subtle Zulu language elements that appear naturally throughout the songs.
Interestingly, Skypstar notes that the Pitori cultural influence will appear more strongly on the deluxe edition, which is scheduled to release on April 13, 2026.
Songs Written Across 15 Years
Although the album took only three months to record, the songwriting behind it spans over a decade. Some tracks were written as far back as 2012, while others were composed in later years — meaning the album represents a collection of ideas and emotions accumulated over 15 years of creativity.
This gives RnB Ya Pitori a layered feel, where older lyrical ideas meet modern production.
The project was also partly inspired by the YouTube channel Escape Tracks, known for showcasing atmospheric contemporary R&B music.

Musically, the track channels early-2000s Atlanta R&B, reminiscent of songs like Oh by Ciara and Soldier by Destiny’s Child. The beat structure and rhythm evoke the era when R&B and hip-hop collaborations dominated the airwaves.
“Lullaby for Boys”
Perhaps the most unique track on the album is “Lullaby for Boys.” Originally written as a song Skypstar would sing to his baby nephew, the track was later transformed into a professional recording.
Built around soft lofi R&B textures, the song was designed to help babies fall asleep — but its calming atmosphere makes it equally suited for relaxation, studying, or late-night listening.
“Heaven”
“Heaven” strips everything down to pure emotion with a fully acoustic arrangement. The track acts as a homage to Skypstar’s favorite cover singer, Erika Davids, reflecting the intimate influence she had on his musical taste.
A Collaborative Project
RnB Ya Pitori also features several collaborators who help shape the sonic palette of the album. Featured artists include Michaela, Justin Bryce, Kenneth, Cameron Cam, Kain, and Blue D, each contributing their own style to the project.
