After a self-imposed chill-off, the independent rapper and gifted storyteller is back, not with something new, but with something foundational. He has reached into the vault to re-release a crucial piece from his EP era — “Ama International.”
Originally recorded in Dennilton back in December 2022, “Ama International” was created in the afterglow of his breakout 2021 EP, ‘Razzmatazz Calling’. It was a period of raw hunger, when Cynic was making serious noise from his hometown, before the move to Johannesburg, before Daveyton became the new base.
Now, officially re-released, the single hits different. It’s a time capsule and a prophecy at once.

On the surface, “Ama International” is drill in its purest form — heavy, gritty percussion, dark sliding 808s, and that unmistakable UK-meets-US urgency. But Cynic S.A flips the template. He pours in lived experience. It’s not just about the streets; it’s about the journey out of them.

“Ama International is the vision and space I saw myself going at a young age,” Cynic explains. “This song is me calling my future into existence before the world knew my name. This is drill, but it’s visionary drill.”
From Razzmatazz to Resurgence
What makes this re-release so compelling is context. “Ama International” isn’t a leftover. It is a cornerstone from the ‘Razzmatazz Calling’ era, a track that helped define his early sound. Bringing it back now, after his relocation to the East Rand and his evolution as an artist, connects the dots between Dennilton and Daveyton.
It proves consistency. While many chase waves, Cynic S.A was already building his own lane — a lane that bridges grassroots survival with global ambition.
